Job summary

Lazarus Capital Partners seeks an experienced finance professional for the Sydney Equities Desk. You will handle daily trade booking, settlements and reconciliations, support revenue accounting, and contribute to risk and controls within a boutique prime brokerage environment.

The role offers exposure to senior leadership and cross‑functional collaboration across finance, operations and audits. On‑site work with a focus on accuracy and process improvement.

Qualifications

• Understanding of equity market operations
• Highly developed analytical and problem-solving skills
• Tuition in accounting/finance or financial markets; RG146 preferred
• Proficiency in analyzing data from trade execution platforms
• Ability to excel in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment

Responsibilities

• Monthly calculation, reconciliation, banking and reporting of internal revenues
• Distribution of dealer revenues and preparation of supporting analysis
• Liaison with external accountants on taxation, profit reporting and funds management matters
• Support annual audit process and coordinate with General Manager and auditors
• Daily trade booking and settlement for client book
• Trade reconciliations across client accounts
• Daily cash and stock reconciliations across multiple prime broker counterparties
• Portfolio reconciliation to internal reporting systems
• Contribute to Risk Committee activities and identify risks
• Prepare ad-hoc reporting and data insights to support growth
• Support annual fund accounting submissions and coordination with fund administrators
• Bookkeeping of fund revenues and invoicing processes
• Provide information to support quarterly BAS submissions
• Document and enhance funds management accounting procedures
• Ensure compliance with policy and reporting requirements
• Develop understanding of internal revenue accounting and reconciliation processes
• Document back-office workflows and support process improvements
• Build relationships with internal teams and external stakeholders
• Take ownership of revenue, reconciliation and client trust banking functions
• Provide senior guidance to Operations Analyst colleagues
• Support risk management discussions and monitoring of internal exposures
• Contribute to operational risk management and cross-team collaboration
• Develop capability in revenue projection reporting and cash flow management

• Bookkeeping of fund revenues and ensuring correct invoicing processes
• Provide key information to support quarterly BAS submissions
• Document and enhance funds management accounting procedures
• Ensure compliance with policy, procedure and reporting requirements
• Develop an in-depth understanding of internal revenue accounting, reporting and reconciliation processes
• Document operational and back-office workflows and support process improvement initiatives
• Build strong relationships with internal teams and external stakeholders (fund administrators, auditors, prime brokers)
• Take ownership of improving revenue, reconciliation and client trust banking functions
• Provide senior guidance to Operations Analyst colleagues

Skills, Experience and Qualifications

• Understanding of equity market operations
• Highly developed analytical, investigative and problem-solving skills
• Tertiary qualifications in accounting, finance or financial markets; RG146 preferred
• Proficiency in analysing data from OMS/EMS trade execution platforms
• Strong analytical mindset with proven problem-solving capability
• Ability to excel in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment
• High attention to detail and accuracy
• Commitment to long-term tenure and internal progression
• Advanced Excel skills, with ability to create process efficiencies
• Experience in revenue accounting and reconciliations within complex environments
• Ability to work on-site minimum hours of 8:30am-5:00pm
