The Australian Broadcasting Corporation, based in Collinswood (Adelaide), is seeking an Operations Accountant to join the Finance & Operations team. This role provides exposure to accounting, reporting and operation finance functions to support ABC’s national broadcasting operations.

The ideal candidate will have tertiary accounting qualifications and strong Excel/finance system skills, with a focus on accuracy, policy interpretation and effective communication.

Qualifications

• Tertiary qualifications in accounting/finance or equivalent.
• Strong proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel and finance systems.
• Strong written and verbal communication with the ability to interpret policies.
• Exposure to foreign currencies would be advantageous.
• Solid accounting knowledge including banking, A/P and A/R, and financial accounting.

Responsabilités

• Prepare and post journals and monthly account reconciliations.
• Prepare ad hoc time sensitive financial reports as required.
• Draft correspondence and attend to general enquiries.
• Maintain department filing and financial systems.
• Prepare reports and analyse variances.
• Provide accounting services and advice to relevant business areas.
• Back-office treasury function including daily cash forecasting.
• Quarterly reporting to the Australian Bureau of Statistics (ABS).
• Provide support and backup to the Assistant Accountant and Asset Accountant.
