Job summary

AnglicareSA is seeking a Permanent Financial Accountant to join our Finance team in Adelaide. You will perform monthly management accounts, balance sheet reconciliations, and year-end tasks, delivering timely, reliable financial reporting across portfolios.

This role focuses on accuracy, insights, and collaboration to support service delivery across SA. Ideal candidates have 4+ years in accounting, CA/CPA membership or study, and strong Excel and budgeting skills, with a commitment to continuous

Qualifications

• 4+ years of proven experience in Accounting roles with strong financial principles and reporting.
• Knowledge of financial statement preparation, including P&L, Balance Sheet, and Cash Flow statements.
• CA/CPA membership or pursuing membership is preferred.
• Experience with end‑of‑month processes, journals, reconciliations and general accounting practices.
• Proven experience preparing budgets, management reports and financial analysis.
• Continuous improvement mindset with interest in improving systems, processes and reporting.
• Strong analytical, problem‑solving and communication skills with ability to explain financial information clearly.
• Experience delivering accounting support in not-for-profit environments is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Oversee end-of-month processes, journals and reconciliations within agreed timeframes.
• Prepare timely management reports showing portfolio financial performance.
• Investigate budget variances and provide clear analysis for decision-making.
• Support annual budget preparation and coordination with Finance Business Partner.
• Contribute to external compliance, audits, and financial system improvements.
• Collaborate across the finance team to provide reliable financial information.
