Job summary

Transport for NSW is seeking an Operational Technology Networks Support Officer to maintain and enhance the OT network and related systems at Yennora. You will monitor performance, manage changes and support critical infrastructure across a 24/7 roster, working with partners to keep services secure and available.

The role requires strong network expertise, CCNA-level certification or equivalent experience, and willingness to travel. Permanent full-time role based in Yennora, NSW.

Qualifications

  • Strong technical expertise in network design, implementation and support.
  • Experience with MPLS, VXLAN, and Ethernet VPN networks.
  • Knowledge of Cisco, Palo Alto, F5 and SD-WAN technologies.
  • Experience with VoIP telephony services and OT network environments.

Responsibilities

  • Maintain and enhance the OT network and related systems to ensure security, reliability and availability.
  • Monitor network performance and manage system changes in line with OT service management processes.
  • Contribute to planning, reviewing and implementing network changes and improve cybersecurity posture.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders in a 24/7 operational environment to keep critical systems running.

In this role, you'll:

  • Help maintain and enhance our Operational Technology (OT) network and associated systems, ensuring they remain secure, reliable and highly available.
  • Play a key role in supporting critical infrastructure by monitoring network performance, managing system changes and ensuring services are delivered in line with established OT service management processes.
  • Contribute to the planning, review and implementation of network changes, while also helping strengthen our cybersecurity posture through proactive monitoring, firewall management and continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Working within a 24/7 operational environment, you'll collaborate with a range of technical and business stakeholders to keep our critical systems running effectively and securely.
  • This permanent full-time role is based at our Yennora office. The team regularly collaborates in person and comes together for branch all-in days, training, planning workshops and other collaborative activities to support collaborative outcomes across the branch.

Key qualifications and experience:

  • You bring strong technical expertise, sound problem-solving skills and a collaborative approach to delivering secure and reliable network services.
  • You will demonstrate experience in:
    • Network design, implementation and support.
    • MPLS and VXLAN Ethernet VPN networking technologies.
    • Cisco, Palo Alto, F5 and Software Defined Wide Area Network (SD-WAN) technologies.
    • Voice over IP (VoIP) telephony services.
    • Supporting and managing Operational Technology (OT) network environments.
    • Working in high-pressure, 24/7 operational environments.
    • Cisco Certified Network Associate (CCNA) certification or equivalent industry experience.
    • Tertiary qualifications in a relevant discipline, or equivalent demonstrated experience.
    • Current motor vehicle driver's licence.
    • Willingness to travel within and outside the Sydney metropolitan area and undertake duties remotely when required.
    • Ability to work outside normal business hours and participate in a 24/7 on-call roster.
