Job summary

Darling Downs Health is seeking an Operational Services Officer (Groundsperson) in Miles to maintain outdoor spaces that support patient, visitor and staff wellbeing. You will care for gardens and grounds and help ensure a welcoming health service environment.

The role focuses on operating grounds equipment, safety, and collaborative work to meet service needs while contributing to a positive team culture and the overall care mission of the site.

Qualifications

  • Experience in grounds maintenance, gardening, landscaping or turf care.
  • Ability to operate and perform minor repairs on grounds equipment.
  • Knowledge of workplace health and safety, safe manual handling and risk awareness.
  • A current C Class Driver Licence and a team-focused approach.

Responsibilities

  • Maintaining attractive, safe and functional gardens, lawns and outdoor spaces.
  • Operating and caring for grounds equipment safely and keeping resources prepared for use.
  • Supporting cleaning and presentation of facilities through waste management and exterior upkeep.
  • Working with the team to deliver operational priorities and a positive work culture.

As an Operational Services Officer (Groundsperson), you'll help create and maintain outdoor environments that support the wellbeing of patients, visitors and staff. From caring for gardens and landscaped areas to supporting the presentation and safety of health service facilities, your work will contribute to positive experiences across the site every day.

  • Maintaining attractive, safe and functional gardens, lawns and outdoor spaces that enhance the health service environment.
  • Operating and caring for grounds equipment safely while helping ensure resources are well maintained and ready for use.
  • Supporting clean, tidy and welcoming facilities through waste management, exterior cleaning and site presentation activities.
  • Working collaboratively to deliver operational priorities, meet service needs and contribute to a positive team culture.

  • Experience in grounds maintenance, gardening, landscaping or turf care.
  • Ability to safely operate, maintain and perform minor repairs on grounds equipment.
  • Knowledge of workplace health and safety, safe manual handling and risk awareness.
  • A current C Class Driver Licence and a proactive, team-focused approach to work.

You’ll stand out from the crowd if you have a Certificate III in Horticulture (or are working towards it) and/or experience with pest and weed management.
