Job summary

Brightstar Resources is seeking an Operational Readiness Electrical Engineer for our Laverton, WA site. You will ensure electrical infrastructure, power distribution, and control logic are maintainable, reliable, and safely operable before first ore feed.

The role is site-based on an 8:6 roster with an owner-operator style teamwork ethic. Responsibilities include power readiness, HV/LV governance, compliance, maintenance tactics, CMMS data, and spares management.

Qualifications

• Certified electrical engineer with capacity to support statutory electrical functions.
• Experience in mineral processing with HV networks and PLC/SCADA systems.
• Ability to maintain electrical infrastructure safely and reliably ahead of ore feed.

Responsibilities

• Power and infrastructure readiness for the new facility.
• HV/LV network governance with HV switching programs and models.
• Ensure installations meet AS/NZS 3000 and mine regulations.
• Develop FMECA-based maintenance tactics for critical assets.
• Oversee CMMS master data, BOMs and preventive maintenance schedules.
• Identify and source long-lead electrical spares.

We are the proud owner and operator of the Fish Gold Mine andthe expanded Sandstone district, home to the region’s largestMineral Resource inventory (2.4Moz @ 1.5g/t Au). With constructionof our Laverton Processing Facility now well underway, we areprogressing the development of our open pits and expanding ourunderground operations as we move towards production.

About the role:

Construction of our gold processing facility and associatedinfrastructure is well underway at our site near Laverton, WA. Weare seeking an experienced Operational Readiness ElectricalEngineer to join our team as a technical specialist,responsible for ensuring that all electrical infrastructure, powerdistribution systems and control logic are fully maintainable,reliable and safely operable ahead of first ore feed into theplant. This role is an 8:6 roster based at site.

Key responsibilities-

• Power & Infrastructure Readiness.
• HV/LV Network Governance: Review and approve High Voltage(HV) switching programs and maintain electrical models toensure network stability.
• Compliance: Ensure all installations meet AS/NZS 3000standards and local mining regulations.
• Maintenance Tactics: Develop FMECA based maintenancetactics for critical assets like SAG/Ball mills, crushers, andtransformers.
• CMMS Master Data: Oversee the upload of electrical assethierarchies, Bill of Materials (BOMs), and preventativemaintenance schedules ready for loading into CMMS.
• Critical Spares: Identify and procure long lead electricalspares such as protection relays, VSD components, and specificmotor frames.

About you:

• Certification: Ability to hold or support StatutoryElectrical Engineering functions.
• Experienced in mineral processing (Gold/Copper) withexposure to HV networks and PLC/SCADA systems.
