West Moreton Health in Brisbane–West is seeking an Operational Officer to deliver high-quality support services across environmental cleaning, waste, linen, laundry and food service tasks. You will contribute to maintaining hygiene standards and safe food handling while working with a multidisciplinary team.

The role requires understanding of confidentiality, the ability to solve problems, and the capacity to work with minimal supervision.

About the role

Some of the key responsibilities of the role are:

• Perform duties in the provision of high-quality support services in the fields of environmental cleaning, waste, linen, laundry services and food service tasks and a willingness to accept responsibility.
• Contribute to maintain a high standard of food preparation and presentation for clients, and consistent with standard procedures.
• Operate a range of basic equipment and machinery and undertake routine basic maintenance of equipment operated.

About you

Our ideal candidate will be someone who can demonstrate the following:

• An understanding and commitment to maintaining client, visitor and facility confidentiality and privacy at all times.
• Ability to problem solve, use initiative, work independently and manage workloads by prioritising tasks appropriately.
• Ability to perform duties in cleaning, waste, foood service and linen services with a minimum of supervision and as part of a multidisciplinary team.
• Ability to acquire knowledge of hygiene standards, infection control practices, food safety standards, workplace health and safety, total quality management, equal employment opportunity and anti-discrimination practices and behaviour as applied in the working environment.
• Sound communication skills with ability to effectively liase with staff, clients and visitors.
