Job summary

Hilltops Council in Boorowa, NSW, is seeking an Open Spaces Crew Member to lead weed control across the Hilltops area. You will maintain open spaces, facilities, roadsides, and amenities, performing skilled labour and plant operation duties as needed.

This permanent, full-time role offers strong learning and development opportunities in a Council environment, with salary up to $71k p.a. plus 12% Super and additional allowances under the Local Government State Award.

Qualifications

• Experience in weed control and related landscape maintenance.
• Ability to operate basic plant equipment and adhere to safety standards.
• Willingness to work across Boorowa and Hilltops area.

(Permanent, full-time – 76 hours per nine-day fortnight)

As an Open Spaces Crew Member, you will be predominately tasked with weed control both in Boorowa and surrounding villages and more broadly, across Hilltops. You will be multi-skilled and expected undertake the maintenance of open spaces, facilities, roadsides and amenities, providing skilled labouring and plant operation duties where required.

Weed control functions are vital to preserve our natural environment both now and for future generations, and these skills will continue to remain in great need for many years to come. Our ideal applicant will be self-motivated & responsible, holding the appropriate training and skills to work independently and productively.
