Job summary

Gympie Regional Council is seeking Open Space Maintenance Team Members (Mowing) to maintain parks, reserves and public spaces. Roles include 1 full-time permanent and 2 fixed-term positions (about 3 months) with an annual salary starting at $74,376 plus up to 15% superannuation.

Responsibilities include mowing, pruning, weed control and operating a range of plant and equipment. Applicants should have relevant licences and a strong safety focus.

Qualifications

• Current Australian Class C driver’s licence.
• General Construction Induction Card (White Card).
• Experience operating plant and equipment for parks/open space maintenance.
• Ability to work independently and in a team.
• Strong communication and customer service skills.

Responsibilities

• Operate and maintain mowers, woodchippers, tractors and other plant/equipment safely.
• Perform mowing, slashing, brush cutting and general grounds maintenance.
• Prune trees, plant and mulch, manage weeds and playground maintenance.
• Maintain parks, reserves, beaches, cemeteries and other spaces to a high standard.
• Work safely in public spaces and support other Open Space teams as needed.
• Share knowledge with new starters and casual staff.
