Job summary

St Nicholas seeks an OOSH Coordinator and Educational Leader to establish and run a brand-new out-of-school-hours service at Catherine McAuley Primary School in Medowie, NSW. You will oversee operations, recruit and mentor staff, and work closely with the school Principal to ensure a high standard of care and education.

The role is 35 hours per week, permanent part-time, with a mix of split and block shifts, operating 6.30am to 6.00pm, including Before/After School and Vacation Care.

Qualifications

• Be willing to accept the role of Nominated Supervisor under NSW laws.
• Demonstrated ability to implement the My Time Our Place Framework for School Aged Children as Educational Leader.
• Proven administrative, parent/community liaison, staff development and mentoring experience.
• Experience managing a budget for an OOSH or Early Education service.
• Understanding and applying WHS legislation.

Job description

As the OOSH Coordinator and Educational Leader, you will oversee the operation of the service, lead, guide and support a team to provide high quality education and care to school aged children.

We are currently seeking a passionate and energetic OOSH Coordinator to establish our brand new service at Catherine McAuley Primary School, Medowie, NSW. This is an exciting opportunity to work with a Foundation School, and build our OOSH service from the ground up.

Position Description

This new Primary School is opening Term 1, 2027, where OOSH will play an integral part in supporting the school community. You will be working collaboratively with the school Principal and St Nicholas across all aspects of service operation.

The position will be 35 hours per week, on a permanent part-time basis, with a mix of split and block shifts. OOSH will operate Before and After School sessions plus Vacation Care, with operational hours from 6.30am to 6.00pm.

The role will commence during Term 4, 2026, enabling you to be fully involved in the establishment of the service, including recruitment of your team, resourcing the service and enrolling and interviewing families.

Remuneration - $46.12 per hour + Worker Retention Allowance + Super + Educational Leader allowance $2.42 per hour

EXPERIENCE/CRITERIA

• Be willing to accept the role of Nominated Supervisor, under the Education and Care Services National Law and National Regulations
• Demonstrated ability to implement the My Time Our Place Framework for School Aged Children as Educational Leader
• Proven ability in all areas of administrative procedure, parent and community liaison, staff professional development and mentoring
• Previous experience in successfully managing a budget for OOSH or an Early Education service
• Understanding and working knowledge of WHS legislation

QUALIFICATIONS

• Diploma of School Age Education and Care or Diploma in Children’s Services or Certificate III in Children’s Services or equivalent
• Current Working with Children Check
• Current First Aid (HLTAID012 Provide First Aid in an Education and Care Setting)
• Current CPR – must be less than 12 months old
• Geccko National Child Safe Training
• Child Protection Qualification (or willing to obtain)
