Job summary

Challenge Foster Care, part of Challenge Community Services, is seeking a compassionate Supervised Contact Worker to organise and supervise family and sibling contact for children in OOHC. The role emphasises safety, structure and reporting accuracy, with weekend availability required.

You'll work with Case Workers, carers and families to facilitate connections, ensuring visits remain safe and compliant with policies. Training and development opportunities are provided.

Qualifications

• Experience working with children and families in complex situations.
• Strong analytical, interpersonal and written communication skills.
• Ability to manage and supervise complex family and sibling contact autonomously.
• High-level negotiation and mediation skills.
• Adaptable to changing circumstances and organisational needs.
• Proven ability to produce accurate written reports.
• Compliance with background checks and safety requirements.

Responsibilities

• Organise and supervise family and sibling contact visits for children in OOHC.
• Ensure the safety and wellbeing of children during contact.
• Provide emotional support before, during and after contact.
• Maintain professional communication with carers and birth families.
• Complete accurate, timely written contact reports.
• Adhere to legislation, policies and child protection standards.
• Maintain confidentiality at all times.
• Participate in team meetings and relevant training.
• Ensure contact environments are safe and WHS compliant.
