Job summary

HEH Civil is seeking a Safety Officer to join a project-based team in Cairns / Far North Queensland. The role is onsite at the project site office and focuses on day-to-day safety, environmental and quality activities across the project.

You will support site inspections, risk assessments, incident management and toolbox talks, contribute to the Integrated Management System and ISO 9001/ISO 14001 requirements, and develop practical safety experience within civil construction.

Qualifications

• Certificate IV in Workplace Health and Safety required.
• Construction White Card and current Queensland Driver’s Licence.
• Good communication skills and confidence working with site teams.
• Willingness to learn and build practical safety experience in civil construction.
• Experience in safety, WHS, HSEQ, civil construction or DTMR projects will be highly regarded, but is not essential.

Responsibilities

• Support site inspections, audits, task observations and hazard reporting.
• Assist with risk assessments, SWMS, incidents and corrective actions.
• Help maintain HSEQ documentation, records, training and toolbox talks.
• Support the Integrated Management System and ISO 9001 / ISO 14001 requirements.
