Job summary

Solar Mechancial Services Pty Ltd in Dubbo, NSW, is seeking an experienced Supply and Distribution Manager to lead planning, coordination and delivery of materials, plant and equipment across renewable energy construction projects.

The role is full-time and based onsite with regular travel to regional project locations nationwide. You will own project supply and distribution operations, ensuring procurement, storage, tracking and timely delivery in line with project requirements.

Qualifications

• Bachelor-level qualification in logistics, supply chain management, business, or related discipline, or 5+ years in industry.
• Experience managing supply, storage, inventory and distribution operations.
• Experience coordinating materials, plant and equipment within construction/infrastructure/renewable energy projects.
• Strong experience managing suppliers, transport providers and site delivery schedules.
• Proven leadership of logistics personnel and performance monitoring.
• Strong planning, problem-solving and organisational skills.
• Ability to manage competing priorities across multiple regional projects.
• Strong communication and stakeholder-management skills.
• Sound computer skills with inventory, asset-tracking or logistics-management systems.
• Current Australian driver’s license and willingness to travel to regional locations.
• Construction industry experience, a White Card and relevant licences will be highly regarded.

Responsibilities

• Develop, implement and monitor supply, storage and distribution strategies across multiple renewable energy projects.
• Plan and coordinate movement of construction materials, plant, equipment and project supplies between suppliers and sites.
• Prepare and implement supply plans to maintain stock levels while controlling costs.
• Manage inventory, storage and materials-tracking systems.
• Oversee mobilisation and allocation of plant and equipment.
• Coordinate transport providers, deliveries and site access requirements to ensure materials and equipment arrive safely and within project timeframes.
• Negotiate and manage arrangements with suppliers and transport providers to meet quality, cost and delivery requirements.
• Monitor supplier and logistics performance and resolve delivery, stock, transport and equipment-allocation issues.
• Liaise with project managers, construction managers, supervisors, procurement personnel and suppliers regarding upcoming project requirements.
• Direct and coordinate the activities of logistics personnel, operators and other workers involved in receiving, storing and distributing project materials.
• Prepare logistics plans, inventory reports, delivery schedules and project supply updates for management.
