Job summary

Weir Minerals U.S. in Perth is seeking a Designer to join our onsite Australian team. You will provide local drafting capability, produce accurate fabrication drawings, and support reverse engineering through 3D models.

The role involves site measurements, collaboration with the WMA team, and delivering drawings on time while upholding safety. A Cert 4 in Technical Drafting and proficiency in Inventor are highly valued, with opportunities for regional benefits.

Qualifications

• Cert 4 Technical Drafting or equivalent qualification.
• Proficiency in CAD packages for drafting, preferably Autodesk Inventor.
• Knowledge of steel fabrication, welding and related manufacturing processes.
• Awareness of Australian and ISO drafting standards.

Responsibilities

• Produce accurate fabrication and assembly drawings and review third-party drawings for quality and compliance.
• Create and assemble 3D scanned models to support reverse engineering and trials.
• Perform site measurements and assessments for design accuracy.
• Act as interface between Weir Mining Australia team and external parties for drafting outputs.
• Deliver drawings on time to support project milestones.
