Job summary

GenesisCare Kingswood is seeking a Casual Registered Nurse to join the Medical Oncology and Radiation Oncology team. You will provide compassionate, expert care to patients through key moments in their treatment journey.

The role requires at least one year of Medical Oncology experience, and offers Monday–Friday clinic hours with no night shifts or weekends, enabling strong work-life balance and career growth.

Qualifications

• Current AHPRA registration as a Registered Nurse.
• Minimum of one year of Medical Oncology nursing experience (essential).
• Experience in Haematology, Day Oncology, Infusion Services, Radiation Oncology, or related specialties is highly regarded.
• Chemotherapy administration accreditation is desirable.
• Experience in central venous access device management and wound care.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills with patients and their families.
• Excellent clinical assessment, problem solving and decision making skills.
• Collaborative approach and a desire to contribute positively to a supportive team.

Responsibilities

• Provide high quality nursing care to patients receiving medical oncology and radiation oncology treatments.
• Support patients throughout their treatment journey with compassionate care, education, and emotional support.
• Administer systemic therapies and medications in accordance with clinical protocols and safety principles.
• Educate patients and families on treatment plans, side effects, and supportive care strategies.
• Perform central venous access device management, wound care, skin care, and clinical assessments.
• Monitor patient wellbeing and respond to changing clinical needs.
• Coordinate appointments and daily clinical activities for a smooth patient experience.
• Collaborate with Medical Oncologists, Radiation Oncologists, Radiation Therapists, Allied Health, and Patient Services teams.
• Maintain accurate and timely clinical documentation for continuity of care.
• Use ISBAR to promote safe teamwork and communication.
• Contribute to quality improvement and NSQHS guideline compliance.

More specifically, you will:

• Provide high quality nursing care to patients receiving medical oncology and radiation oncology treatments
• Support patients throughout their treatment journey with compassionate care, education, and emotional support
• Administer systemic therapies and medications in accordance with clinical protocols and medication safety principles
• Educate patients and their families on treatment plans, symptom management, potential side effects, and supportive care strategies
• Deliver hands on clinical care, including central venous access device management, wound care, skin management, and clinical assessments
• Monitor patient wellbeing and respond appropriately to changing clinical needs
• Coordinate appointments and daily clinical activities to help ensure a positive and seamless patient experience
• Work closely with Medical Oncologists, Radiation Oncologists, Radiation Therapists, Allied Health professionals, and Patient Services teams
• Maintain accurate and timely clinical documentation to support continuity of care
• Utilise structured communication tools such as ISBAR to promote safe and effective teamwork
• Contribute to quality improvement initiatives and maintain compliance with NSQHS standards and best practice guidelines

We're interested in hearing from people who have:
