Job summary

Slade Pharmacy Hobart is recruiting an Oncology Pharmacist in a permanent part-time role. You’ll join a highly specialised cancer care team, delivering clinical oncology services and contributing to patient outcomes in a hospital/oncology setting.

Training will be provided to transition into oncology, with relocation support available for eligible candidates. Flexible roster options are discussed to balance personal commitments with service needs.

Qualifications

• Australian working rights valid for at least 12 months from commencement.
• Current unrestricted AHPRA registration as a pharmacist.
• Minimum 3 years’ experience as a pharmacist.
• Good knowledge of PBS.
• Strong interpersonal skills and ability to communicate with doctors and patients.

Responsibilities

• Deliver high-level clinical services in oncology, including medication review, patient counselling and treatment optimisation.
• Apply advanced professional judgement to complex oncology cases and support evidence-based care.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to support patient-centred cancer care.

About the Role

As an Oncology Pharmacist, you'll play a critical role in the clinical review, preparation, and dispensing of oncology treatments. You’ll be part of a highly specialised team supporting the safe and efficient dispensing of cancer therapies within a specialised cancer care facility, where your clinical insights actively shape patient outcomes and influence best practice oncology care.

Key responsibilities:

• Deliver high-level clinical pharmacy services in oncology, including medication review, patient counselling, and treatment optimisation.
• Apply advanced professional judgement to complex oncology cases, supporting evidence-based care across the patient journey.
• Collaborate effectively with multidisciplinary teams, contributing to a cohesive and patient-centred cancer care environment.
• Provide expert advice on oncology protocols, treatment regimens, and supportive care strategies.
• Contribute to quality improvement initiatives, clinical governance, and research activities within the oncology setting.

About You

You’re an experienced pharmacist with a genuine willingness to learn and strong attention to detail in your daily pharmacy duties. You have demonstrated the ability to work autonomously and thrive in a busy, fast-paced environment.

While oncology or hospital pharmacy experience is highly desirable, experienced community pharmacists are also encouraged to apply as full training will be provided.

Eligibility requirements:
