Job summary

Northern Sydney Local Health District is seeking a Clinical Nurse Educator to lead and coordinate structured learning for nurses in the Day Medical Unit. The role focuses on clinical teaching, patient education, orientation, and skill accreditation across NSLHD sites.

You will support the development of the NSLHD Nursing Professional Development Program and contribute to hospital orientations and mandatory training, with travel to other NSLHD sites for workshops and lecturing.

Qualifications

• Holds AHPRA Registration as a Registered Nurse and relevant post-registration qualifications or equivalent experience.
• Extensive post-registration experience in oncology/haematology nursing.
• Knowledge of NSW Health policies, NSQHS Standards, and cancer care pathways.
• Demonstrated effective communication skills, both written and verbal.
• Demonstrated ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
• Demonstrated computer literacy.
• Demonstrated ability to practice safe nursing care and knowledge of policies and clinical practice guidelines.
• Demonstrated commitment to evidence based practice, continuous quality improvement and risk management.
• Current NSW Drivers Licence.

Responsibilities

• Lead, develop, coordinate and implement structured learning for nurses in NSLHD Day Medical Unit.
• Provide clinical teaching, patient education, orientation and skill accreditation.
• Support professional development and hospital orientation including mandatory training.
• Teach courses relevant to nursing within NSLHD and at external facilities.
• Contribute to NSLHD Nursing Professional Development Program; travel to other sites for lecturing and workshops.
