Job summary

Huon Aquaculture seeks a hands-on Maintenance Operator to support our on-water marine farm at Strahan/Macquarie Harbour. You will perform thorough cleaning of machines, carry out pre-start checks, and ensure timely maintenance requests are submitted to management.

Working with crew and other departments, you will follow SOPs and biosecurity protocols to minimise disease transfer and improve safety and reliability in a dynamic environment.

Responsibilities

• Perform thorough cleaning of machines and equipment between leases and daily operations. Follow all SOPs and biosecurity protocols to minimise disease transfer between fish populations
• Carry out pre-start checks and function tests on all machinery and deck equipment. Accurately complete maintenance request forms and ensure timely submission to management.
• Submit net cleaning control forms promptly to data entry and ensure all tasks are completed to a consistently high standard.
• Work with other departments to optimise equipment affecting net cleaning (e.g., feed and ventilation systems). Communicate issues clearly and promptly with management and crew.
