Job summary

Komatsu Australia is seeking a Trades Assistant at Batchfire Callide Mine to rotate between our Maintenance Team and Warehouse Operations, gaining exposure to heavy equipment maintenance and parts handling.

You'll work alongside tradespeople, assisting servicing, shutdowns and breakdowns on excavators, trucks and graders, while receiving, dispatching and storing parts and consumables on a busy on-site site.

Qualifications

• No formal trade qualification required; hands-on focus and teamwork are essential.
• Experience with heavy equipment and on-site operations is preferred.
• Current Queensland Driver's Licence and ability to obtain Coal Board Medical (S11).
• Forklift licence required; High Risk Work tickets welcomed.

Responsibilities

• Getting hands-on with the maintenance team on day-to-day activities.
• Assisting with servicing, shutdowns and breakdowns on heavy equipment.
• Operating light vehicles, service trucks, wash bays and ancillary equipment.
• Receiving, dispatching and safely storing parts and consumables.
• Supporting stocktakes and keeping parts organized.
• Maintaining a clean, safe worksite and good housekeeping.
• Working with trades, supervisors, and site personnel.
• Contributing to a positive crew culture focused on safety and teamwork.
