Job summary

Cummins Inc. at Dawson Mine seeks an on-site Technician to service a large Cummins-powered fleet, from 15L to Tier 4 60L engines. You will work directly with Komatsu MARC Dawson and site management to maximise uptime and reliability through proactive field service and rigorous diagnostics.

Role is 7/7 12-hour days, performing breakdown responses, scheduled maintenance, and collaborative problem solving with customers, delivering accurate reporting and adhering to HSE policies.

Qualifications

• Apprentice Trained Engine Technician (Cert III) or equivalent.
• Proven experience supporting heavy mining or high horsepower equipment.
• Strong knowledge of Cummins engines across a broad horsepower range.
• Demonstrated capability in diagnostics, troubleshooting, and field repairs.
• Experience working directly with customers in a site-based environment.
• Strong communication skills and ability to build stakeholder relationships.
• Ability to work in remote mining environments.
• HR License (preferred).
• Valid driver’s license.

Responsibilities

• Provide field service support across a large and complex Cummins-powered fleet.
• Diagnose, troubleshoot, and repair engines ranging from 15L through to Tier 4 60L units.
• Respond to breakdowns, perform scheduled maintenance, and identify defects.
• Work directly with customer supervisors and site leadership to optimise reliability and uptime.
• Collaborate across multiple customers and stakeholders operating onsite.
• Identify and implement opportunities to improve equipment performance.
• Maintain accurate service documentation and reporting.
• Adhere to all Health, Safety & Environmental policies and procedures.
