Job summary

Virtual Colleague is seeking a Video Editor & Content Repurposing Specialist to transform raw footage into engaging long-form YouTube videos and short-form clips for multiple platforms. The role involves identifying highlights, creating thumbnails, and delivering outputs within a planned timeline.

The position is on-demand/project-based, with a typical turnaround of about 5 days per scope. Experience with creators, podcasters, or personal brands is a plus.

Qualifications

• Proven experience in long-form video editing and podcast editing.
• Experience creating short-form promotional clips from longer recordings.
• Proficiency in Adobe Premiere Pro or CapCut.
• Basic thumbnail creation skills.
• Good understanding of video pacing, transitions, audio quality, and visual storytelling.
• Ability to work independently, communicate clearly, and meet deadlines.

Responsibilities

• Edit raw footage into polished, long-form YouTube videos.
• Repurpose long-form videos into short-form clips (59 seconds or less) for YouTube Shorts, Instagram Reels, etc.
• Identify podcast highlights and promotional clips to drive full-episode viewership.
• Create thumbnails for YouTube videos.
• Organise project files, follow editing style, incorporate feedback, and deliver outputs on schedule.
