Job summary

YOURRECRUIT LIMITED is seeking an experienced Registered Manager to lead a children’s residential service. You will provide strong operational and professional leadership, ensuring trauma-informed, child-centred care and regulatory compliance across day-to-day operations.

You will oversee safeguarding, staff leadership, and continuous improvement, ensuring positive outcomes for children and young people while coordinating with social workers and education providers.

Qualifications

• NVQ Level 5 Leadership & Management in Residential Childcare or equivalent.
• Degree-level qualification in Social Work, Health & Social Care or related field is desirable.
• Current Ofsted Registered Manager status or eligibility to register.
• At least 2 years’ management experience in children’s residential care or regulated setting.
• Experience supporting children with complex needs and safeguarding knowledge.

Responsibilities

• Lead and manage the children’s residential home and care team.
• Ensure compliance with Ofsted and relevant regulations and standards.
• Oversee safeguarding, risk management and statutory reporting.
• Develop Deputy Managers, Team Leaders and Support Workers.
• Lead recruitment, supervision, performance management and staff development.
• Oversee care planning, risk assessments and placement reviews.
• Promote trauma-informed, therapeutic and person-centred care.
• Collaborate with social workers, families and partners.
• Manage budgets, staffing and resources effectively.
• Lead audits, quality assurance and improvement plans.
• Support Ofsted inspections and maintain high standards.
• Make decisions during safeguarding concerns, incidents and emergencies.
