Job summary

Nine is seeking an off-platform video producer to drive vertical video coverage for nine.com.au and social platforms. You will craft stories into engaging short-form content across Instagram, TikTok and on-site videos.

You’ll lead from concept to delivery, collaborating with journalists and editors, and adapting quickly to news priorities while maintaining a strong production rhythm. Remote/hybrid work options may apply.

Qualifications

Job Description

An exciting opportunity has come up at one of Australia’s biggest news websites, nine.com.au. Reporting to the off-platform editor, you will drive our vertical video coverage across all platforms, ensuring the content is what our audience needs every day.

We’re looking for an off-platform video producer who can bring nine.com.au’s stories to life in every format, from engaging shorts on Instagram and TikTok to longer-form content on site. More than a producer, you’re a storyteller who turns complex news, insights and explainers into videos that hook in the first three seconds and hold attention all the way through.

Day to day you will:

• Produce end-to-end video content daily across news, lifestyle, sport, and entertainment.

• Write succinct captions and on-screen copy optimised for search.

• Partner with journalists, editors, and production teams to conceptualise creative formats.

• Monitor channel metrics and platform algorithms to tailor content strategies effectively.

• Experiment with emerging social trends and integrate ideas for brand-sponsored projects.

• Maintain a production schedule while adapting to fast-paced news priorities.

What you’ll bring:

• Technical proficiency in editing tools, including Adobe Creative Cloud suite.

• Strong videography skills with hands-on experience in lighting, framing, and audio.

• Deep knowledge of YouTube, TikTok, IG Reels, and Facebook audience behaviours.

• Exceptional copywriting skills for punchy, accessible, and search-friendly messaging.

• Proven ability to manage the complete production pipeline from concept to delivery.

• Strong grasp of media ethics, brand safety, copyright, and fair-dealing rules.

• Collaborative mindset with flexibility to support coverage during key news events.
