Job summary

Penske Australia & New Zealand is seeking a skilled Diesel/Heavy Vehicle Mechanic for field service across our client base. You will diagnose, repair, and maintain engines and powertrains on on-site and in-field equipment while engaging with customers and internal teams.

Ideal candidates bring a trade qualification, strong mechanical aptitude, and a commitment to safe work practices, with the ability to work independently and travel as required.

Qualifications

• Trade qualification as a Diesel Mechanic, Heavy Vehicle Mechanic, Light Vehicle Mechanic, Plant Mechanic, Marine Mechanic or similar mechanical trade.

Responsibilities

• Hands-on field service on/off-highway equipment and vehicles.
• Build and maintain relationships with high-end customers and internal stakeholders.
• Work independently on-site and on the road with strong safety practices.

Whether you're a Diesel Mechanic, Light Vehicle Mechanic, Marine Mechanic, Generator Technician or come from another mechanical trade, we'd love to hear from you. If you have strong mechanical aptitude and are looking to move into the off-highway industry, we'll provide the specialist training to help you succeed. You’ll be comfortable working on your own, while our off-highway team is robust, and well supported, you’ll be on the road. In this unique role, you’ll be hands on in field service, but also establish and maintain strong working relationships with a wide range of high-end customers, and internal stakeholders alike.

About You

• Trade qualification as a Diesel Mechanic, Heavy Vehicle Mechanic, Light Vehicle Mechanic, Plant Mechanic, Marine Mechanic, Generator Technician or similar mechanical trade.
• Experience servicing, maintaining and repairing engines, machinery or mobile equipment.
• Experience working on diesel engines, industrial equipment, marine, automotive, agricultural, mining or power generation equipment will be highly regarded.
• Previous experience with brands such as mtu, Cummins, Detroit Diesel, Mercedes-Benz, Deutz, Allison or similar OEM products is advantageous, but not essential.
• A willingness to learn new products and undertake manufacturer training.
• Able to work independently while delivering exceptional customer service.
• Strong communication skills and commitment to safe work practices.
