Job summary

West Moreton Health is seeking a senior leader to provide professional and operational leadership for Occupational Therapists, Recreation Officers and Clinical Assistants within forensic and secure inpatient settings. You will guide related disciplines and drive service development across a statewide specialist service.

The role requires strong communication, negotiation, and financial stewardship, enabling high-quality, patient-centered care across the West Moreton Health region.

The role is responsible for the professional and operational leadership of Occupational Therapists, Recreation Officers and Clinical Assistants. Where required the role provides professional leadership to Occupational Therapists working in the Prison Mental Health Service, The Learning Centre and Queensland Centre for Mental Health Research.

What We're Looking For

Our ideal candidate will be someone who can demonstrate the following:

• Demonstrates capacity to provide advanced Occupational Therapy services, professional and operational leadership of Occupational Therapists in the context of a Forensic and Secure inpatient setting.
• Demonstrates high level communication skills in the context of managing the Occupational Therapy service (including Recreational Officers and Clinical Assistants) and leading initiatives across discipline and service types including high level negotiation, management and conflict resolution skills.
• Demonstrates high level operational management skills and accountability for meeting prescribed fiscal and human resource management targets.
• Demonstrates ability to set direction and lead relevant service development activity in the contest of a state-wide specialist service.

Mandatory Requirements

• Vaccinated against, and remain vaccinated against, certain vaccine preventable diseases (VPD) as outlined in the Health Employment Directive NO. 01/16
• Appointment to this position requires proof of qualification and registration or membership with the appropriate registration authority or association within Certified copies of the required information must be provided to the appropriate supervisor/manager, prior to the commencement of clinical duties.
