Job summary

SPOT Paediatrics is seeking an experienced Occupational Therapist to provide clinical leadership, mentoring and contribute to service development within a growing team in Adelaide.

The roles include therapy for children, collaboration with speech pathologists, and leadership opportunities with supervision, mentoring and professional development.

You will work 9–5 with a supportive multidisciplinary team and there are opportunities to work from home during school holidays.

Qualifications

• 1-2 years paediatric OT experience minimum.
• Tertiary qualification in Occupational Therapy (Bachelor or Masters Degree).
• OTA/AHPRA membership required.
• Current Working with Children Check, NDIS Worker Check, Driver's license, First Aid Certification.

Responsibilities

• Provide therapy for children alongside caregiver coaching in areas such as regulation, motor skills, self-care, and sensory processing.
• Contribute to OT program development and delivery of supports in childcare centres.
• Collaborate with speech pathologists for joint therapy sessions and liaise with external providers to support children and families.
• Complete documentation in a timely manner (notes, reports, letters, NDIS documentation).
• Participate in regular team meetings and professional development sessions.
• Take on leadership responsibilities including supervision, mentoring, project work and clinical oversight.

SPOT Paediatrics is a passionate team of speech pathologists and occupational therapists based in Hove and operates throughout the southern area of Adelaide. We are a close-knit team that support one another in our professional roles. We are on the lookout for a neuro-affirming Occupational Therapist looking to make a meaningful difference in the lives of young people and their families.

Our Ideal Candidates

We are seeking dedicated and compassionate clinicians who have a passion for working with children and families and sharing skill and expertise with our community; and is committed to implementing neuro-affirming practices and best practice in Early Intervention. The successful candidates will have the opportunity to be involved in diverse work, including individual and group therapy, joint therapy sessions with speech pathologists, and occupational therapy support for 3 and 4 year old preschoolers in long daycare centres under the Flying Start Initiative, and leadership development. The role will involve a mix of community and clinic based work as we grow our preschool and therapy supports in the early years in our local community.

A Typical Day May Include but Not Limited To

Providing therapy for children alongside support and coaching for caregivers in areas such as regulation, toileting, motor skill development, mealtimes, self-care, sensory processing and integration, and executive functioning

Contributing to OT program development and delivery of evidence-informed supports in childcare centres

Collaborating with speech pathologists for joint therapy sessions and shared clients, and liaising with external providers and professionals to work collaboratively to support children and families

Completing documentation in a timely manner (notes, reports, letters, NDIS documentation)

Participating in regular team meetings and professional development sessions

Leadership responsibilities for the right candidate involving supervision and mentoring, project work and clinical oversight

Our New Team Members Will Have

• Strong collaboration and communication skills
• A commitment to self-leadership and continuous learning
• 1-2 years paediatric occupational therapy experience minimum
• Strong organisation skills and self-leadership skills to sustain a full caseload made up of pre-school boost supports and direct client supports
• Experience providing neuro-affirming mealtime supports (preferred or willingness to learn)
• Tertiary qualification in Occupational Therapy (Bachelor or Masters Degree)
• OTA/AHPRA membership
• Current Working with Children Check
• Current NDIS Worker Check
• Current driver's license
• Current First Aid Certification
