Step 2 Allied Health is welcoming upcoming graduates to join a structured new graduate program in a supportive environment. We seek an Occupational Therapist to build and shape their caseload with supervision, supporting participants across the lifespan to reach their goals.

You will work with a diverse team of therapists and support staff, delivering evidence-based care, collaborating across disciplines, and contributing to quality outcomes for clients in regional Victoria and beyond.

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Occupational Therapy completed and eligible for AHPRA registration.
• Evidence-based practice with ability to apply neurodiversity-informed care.
• Current Working With Children's Check and National Police Check.

Responsibilities

• Support clients to achieve goals with evidence-based assessments and interventions.
• Provide neuroaffirming practice and continue development in this area.
• Assess and implement skill development plans for independence at home and in the community.
• Evaluate participant progress and modify treatment plans accordingly.
• Communicate with clients, families and stakeholders within a multidisciplinary framework.
• Prescribe and set up required equipment; complete accurate reports and funding recommendations.
• Maintain client records in line with professional and legal requirements.
• Participate in supervision, professional development and team meetings.
• Support regional participants across the greater Geelong region.

About Step 2 Allied Health:

Step 2 Allied Health provide quality Allied Health, and disability support services to clients across regional Victoria and beyond. The team consists of Occupational Therapists, Speech Pathologists, Behaviour Support Practitioners, Counsellors, Plan Managers, Therapy Assistants and Support Workers. We engage with a variety of funding bodies and sources such as Flexible Support Packages, Support at Home, NDIS, Medicare, TAC and private paying clients. The Role

We are excited to offer the opportunity for upcoming graduates to join our structured new graduate program in a supportive environment. We are looking for a passionate and enthusiastic Occupational Therapist to join our growing team, with the opportunity to build and shape their caseload with the support of their clinical supervisor. You will have the opportunity to support participants across the lifespan and assist them to work towards achieving their goals.

Key Responsibilities

• Support clients to achieve their goals by providing evidence-based assessment and intervention
• Provide neuroaffirming practice alongside continued development in this area
• Assess and implement appropriate skill development plans to support participants to develop independence in the home and community
• Continually evaluate participant progress and participation for effectiveness, efficiency and quality, and modify treatment plans accordingly
• Consult with clients, families, caregivers and external stakeholders to provide strategies and education through a multidisciplinary framework
• Prescribe, order and set up required equipment
• Complete report writing, including assessments, funding recommendations and support recommendations
• Maintain accurate documentation of all client-related activity in line with organisational, professional and legal requirements
• Attend regularly scheduled internal supervision, professional development and team meetings
• Contribute to a supportive team environment, providing support and/or supervision to team members as appropriate
• Supporting regional participants across the greater Geelong region

Requirements

• Bachelor of Occupational Therapy (or equivalent)
• Registered with Australian Health Practitioners Regulation Agency (AHPRA)
• Working With Children's Check
