Job summary

Goulburn Valley Health invites applications for an Occupational Therapist Grade 1 to join our rotational program. This fixed-term full-time role provides exposure across in-patient and community settings with supervision from experienced therapists to support your learning and career development.

New graduates are welcome, with comprehensive orientation and graduate support. Eligibility for OT Australia and current registration are required, with rotations across Mental Health, Acute, Sub-acute,

Qualifications

  • Relevant tertiary qualification in Occupational Therapy with eligibility for membership of Occupational Therapy Australia
  • Current registration with Australian Health Practitioner Registration Agency as an Occupational Therapist
  • Sound understanding of Occupational Therapy practice in inpatient or community setting, including assessment, intervention and discharge planning
  • Demonstrated commitment to learning and professional development, including supervision and receiving feedback

Responsibilities

  • Assess, intervene and discharge plan for patients across multiple hospital settings
  • Rotational placements across Mental Health, Acute, Sub-acute, Community Rehab Centre and Community Health
  • Participate in structured supervision and graduate support programs

About the role:

Join the GV Health Occupational Therapy team as part of our Grade 1 program. A perfect opportunity to experience the public and community sector with a supportive team who can equip you with the skills needed for a strong career start. Build confidence and gain experience under the supervision of experienced Occupational Therapists in the assessment, intervention and discharge planning of those in our care. Each rotation provides a supportive workplace culture within a multidisciplinary team across Mental Health, Acute (Medical, Surgical, Paediatric, Emergency and Intensive Care units), Sub-acute (Rehab, Geriatric Evaluation and Management, and Palliative Care), Community Rehab Centre and Community Health.

We offer a comprehensive orientation, along with structured clinical supervision and graduate support programs.

New graduates are welcome, and encouraged to apply.

The successful applicant will have:

  • Relevant tertiary qualification in Occupational Therapy with eligibility for membership of Occupational Therapy Australia
  • Current registration with Australian Health Practitioner Registration Agency as an Occupational Therapist
  • Sound understanding of Occupational Therapy practice in the inpatient or community setting, including clinical experience in assessment, intervention and discharge planning of various patient cohorts
  • Demonstrated commitment to learning and professional development, including a positive attitude towards supervision and receiving feedback
