Job summary

Brightside Recruitment in Melbourne is seeking an Occupational Therapist with experience in aged care, home modifications and assistive technology. The role offers flexible full-time or part-time options across residential aged care, community or home-based services.

You will assess and recommend practical solutions—ramps, rails, bathroom modifications—and prescribe assistive equipment tailored to each client. Expect clinical autonomy, multidisciplinary collaboration and remote team support.

Qualifications

• AHPRA-registered Occupational Therapist.
• Experience or strong interest in aged care, home modifications and assistive technology.
• Confident completing assessments and recommending appropriate equipment and environmental modifications.
• Experience with ramps, rails, bathroom modifications and other accessibility solutions.
• Comfortable working across residential aged care and/or community settings.
• Strong clinical reasoning, communication and report-writing skills.
• Passionate about supporting older adults to maintain independence, dignity and quality of life.

Responsibilities

• Assess and recommend equipment and environmental modifications, including ramps, rails and bathroom alterations.
• Prescribe assistive technology and tailor solutions to individual needs.
• Work across residential aged care and/or community settings with clinical autonomy.
• Apply clinical reasoning across a diverse range of clients and environments.
• Dedicated time for administration, research and evaluation and participate in multidisciplinary collaboration.
