Job summary

Uniting AgeWell is seeking a qualified Occupational Therapist to deliver focused home-based services to older clients under SAH and STRC programs. You will work to maximise independence in the community with a client-centred approach and collaborate with a large OT team.

Ideal candidates will have tertiary OT qualifications, AHPRA registration, and a commitment to values-based, person-centred care in community aged care. Australian working rights and police clearance are required.

• Experience completing home safety assessments and home modification/equipment recommendations is desirable.
• Australian working rights and ability to pass a police clearance are required.

About the role:

With a strong focus on enhancing customer wellbeing, as the qualified Occupational Therapist you will be responsible for providing focused home-based services for older clientele with a variety of health conditions. You will be providing services under SAH and STRC programs.

Our service focuses on clients’ strengths, is goal-directed and aims to maximise independence and autonomy so clients can remain living independently in the community. Our Occupational Therapy team is a large and supportive team with regular team meetings, one-to-one clinical supervision and support from the Clinical lead of Occupational Therapy.

The ideal candidate will be customer focused, reliable and adaptable, motivated and committed to the provision of customer centred care, and have the capacity to work well autonomously and in a team environment.

We are looking for individuals with:

• Recognised tertiary qualification in Occupational Therapy
• Current registration with AHPRA
• Demonstrated knowledge of clinical practice
• Experience working in the Community Aged Care sector (Desirable)
• Experience completing Home safety assessments and Home modification/equipment recommendations(Desirable)
• Have full Australian working rights and are able to pass a national police clearanceThrive in a team and also appreciate the one to one interactions
• Have a registered car and current drivers license

Essentials for working in Aged Care:

• A current Working With Children Check card
• Current and ongoing flu vaccinations
• Ability to pass a national police clearance and NDIS Clearance
