Job summary

Burnie Brae's Chermside clinic is recruiting an Occupational Therapist for a hybrid role—clinic and client homes with flexible weekdays from Monday to Friday, 7am‑5pm. You will deliver OT services, conduct home safety assessments, and promote independence for clients across North Brisbane and Moreton Bay.

Requirements: Bachelor’s degree in occupational therapy, current AHPRA registration, professional indemnity insurance, and at least 2 years’ experience in private practice or community

• Minimum of 2 years’ experience in private practice, rehabilitation and/or community settings.
• Empathetic, patient, and friendly demeanour with effective communication.
• Willingness to travel across Brisbane's northern suburbs or Moreton Bay region.

Responsibilities

• Deliver high-quality Occupational Therapy services within client’s homes and in the clinic.
• Conduct home assessments for safety and equipment needs.
• Promote falls prevention strategies and interventions.
• Equipment prescription (mobility aids, seating, bathroom modifications).
• Conduct functional training for independence with dressing, cooking, bathing.
• Complete reports for justifying equipment, modifications, or therapy.
• Liaise with Care Partners surrounding client care, modification and equipment recommendations.
• Assess and prescribe interventions for cognitive support (memory, routines, compensatory strategies).
• Work within a multi-disciplinary team of physiotherapists, occupational therapists, exercise physiologists, allied health assistants and remedial massage therapists.
• Contribute to the development of in-clinic services.

At our Chermside clinic, we deliver multidisciplinary allied health services both in-clinic and in clients’ homes, supporting people across North Brisbane and Moreton Bay to stay active, healthy, and independent.

About the Role

We’re excited to offer opportunities for both Full-time and Part-time Occupational Therapists to join our Allied Health team. This hybrid role includes a mix of community and clinic-based appointments, with flexibility to negotiate working days between Monday and Friday. Services are delivered between 7am-5pm and can be tailored to suit the practitioner’s preferences.

What You’ll Do

• Deliver high-quality Occupational Therapy services within client’s homes and in the clinic.

• Contribute to the development of in-clinic services.
• Have the flexibility and opportunity to develop services in practice areas of interest or expertise.
• Work within a variety of funding models including My Aged Care, Support at Home, Brokered and Private arrangements.

To be eligible for this role, you’ll bring:

• Bachelor's degree in occupational therapy, current AHPRA registration, and current professional indemnity insurance.
• Minimum of 2 years’ experience working in private practice, rehabilitation and/or community settings.
• Experience in clinical service delivery, quality improvement and process development (highly desirable).
• Empathetic, patient, and friendly demeanour with the ability to effectively communicate with a variety of clients, families, and stakeholders.
• Hold a current police check certificate (or are willing to obtain).
• Reliable motor vehicle (including registration and insurance).
• Current driver’s license and willingness to travel across Brisbane's Northern suburbs or the broader Moreton Bay region.
