Job summary

Workforce Extensions is seeking an Occupational Therapist with a passion for mental health and community support. You’ll enjoy freedom in how you practise, with a mix of work from home, telehealth, community visits, client homes, and clinic appointments to suit your clients.

You'll work with children, adolescents and/or adults across mental health, psychosocial, neurological, developmental and physical presentations, building independence and meaningful participation.

Qualifications

• Current AHPRA registration as an Occupational Therapist.
• A relevant Occupational Therapy qualification.
• Strong clinical reasoning and assessment skills.
• Good report-writing and communication skills.
• The ability to manage your own caseload.
• A person-centred, strengths-based approach.
• A genuine interest in mental health and psychosocial support.
• Experience across mental health, community, disability or NDIS will be highly regarded.

If you’re an Occupational Therapist who actually enjoys working with people and wants more freedom in the way you practise, this could be a role worth looking at.

We’re looking for an OT who is passionate about mental health, wellbeing and helping people build more independent, meaningful lives.

This isn’t about sitting behind a desk ticking boxes all day. You’ll have the flexibility to work in a way that makes sense for your clients and for you, with a mix of work from home, telehealth, community visits, client homes, supported accommodation and clinic-based appointments.

The Role

You’ll work with children, adolescents and/or adults across a range of mental health, psychosocial, neurological, developmental and physical presentations.

You’ll get to know your clients properly, understand what they’re trying to achieve and work alongside them to find practical ways forward.

Your work could include:

• Functional and occupational assessments
• Individualised treatment and intervention plans
• Supporting emotional and sensory regulation
• Building independence with everyday activities
• Executive functioning and social participation
• Functional capacity assessments
• Assistive technology recommendations

You’ll have autonomy without being left on your own, with regular supervision, clinical support and a team around you when you need it.
