Job summary

Hunter New England Local Health District in Manning Hospital is seeking an Assistant in Nursing for a casual position. You will work under the guidance of Registered Nurses, delivering compassionate, patient-centred care and gaining hands-on experience across a range of settings within the Manning Valley.

Qualifications

• Certificate III Assistant in Nursing or enrolled in an undergraduate Registered Nursing degree (completion of first year and first semester or trimester of second year) or enrolled in a TAFE NSW Diploma of Nursing (completion of identified foundational units in practice AND 80 hours of clinical placement).
• Strong communication and patient-centred care.
• Ability to work collaboratively and learn in a supportive team.

Responsibilities

• Supporting patients with personal care, mobility and daily activities.
• Assisting with patient comfort, communication and wellbeing needs.
• Providing care within your scope of practice.
• Supporting nurses with clinical tasks, procedures and equipment preparation.
• Maintaining accurate patient documentation.
• Working collaboratively with nurses and the multidisciplinary team to ensure excellent patient care.
