Job summary

NSW Health in Wauchope District Hospital is seeking a Casual Assistant in Nursing to support Registered Nurses in delivering safe, compassionate patient care. You will assist with daily nursing tasks and activities of daily living, contributing to positive health outcomes and patient well-being.

The role requires a Certificate III in Health Services Assistance (or partial Bachelor of Nursing studies) and a good understanding of infection control.

Qualifications

• Certificate III Health Services Assistance or eligible Bachelor of Nursing studies (at least one year completed).
• Knowledge of basic nursing care, including observations and activities of daily living.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with ability to work effectively in a multidisciplinary team.

About the Role

Join our team at Mid North Coast Local Health District and help deliver safe, compassionate, patient-centred care. Working under the supervision of a Registered Nurse, you’ll assist with daily nursing care, support patients’ activities of daily living and contribute to positive health outcomes.

About You

• Certificate III (or higher) in Health Services Assistance, relevant equivalent experience, or eligible Bachelor of Nursing studies (at least one year completed).
• Knowledge of basic nursing care, including observations and activities of daily living.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively in a multidisciplinary team.
• Understanding of infection control, scope of practice and working safely under supervision.
