The Transit Lounge is a fast paced short stay transition from inpatient to discharge home of to a facility. We typically see between 20-30 patients a day and managed with 2 registered nurses.

Qualifications

• Registered Nurse Division 1 with APHRA and relevant management qualification or equivalent.
• Ability to work independently and in a team environment.
• Proven leadership of a clinical team and staff development.
• Strong written and verbal communication and computer literacy.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate daily scheduling and resource allocation to support operational efficiency and patient flow.
• Develop and maintain policies, procedures, competency frameworks, and clinical protocols.
• Participate in quality activities and manage operational data for continuous improvement.
• Support onboarding, education, competency assessment, and ongoing staff development.
• Build collaboration with wards, ward clerks, NUMs, rehab facilities and pharmacy.

The Transit Lounge is a fast paced short stay transition from inpatient to discharge home of to a facility. We typically see between 20-30 patients a day and managed with 2 registered nurses. Operating hours are Monday to Friday from 08:30 to 18:00.

What you'll be doing

• Coordinate daily scheduling and resource allocation to support operational efficiency and patient flow.
• Develop and maintain policies, procedures, competency frameworks, and clinical protocols.
• Participate in quality activities and managing operational data to support continuous improvement initiatives.
• Support onboarding, education, competency assessment, and ongoing development of staff and teams.
• Build strong collaborative relationships with key stakeholders being the wards, ward clerks and NUM's as well as rehab facilities and pharmacy
• Consistently demonstrates behaviours that reinforce the CORE Values of our organisation; Collaboration, Openness, Respect and Empowerment. Demonstrates these behaviours with all stakeholders; colleagues, direct reports, as well as our patients and consumers, and those that care for them.
• Registered Nurse-Division 1 with Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (APHRA) AND Relevant management tertiary qualification OR equivalent work experience, OR a combination of study and work experience; and demonstrated commitment to professional development.
• Demonstrated ability to work both independently and in a team environment.
• Demonstrated ability to lead, manage and support a clinical team.
• Demonstrated excellence in written and verbal communication skills and computer literacy in Microsoft Applications, roster management systems and electronic medical records.
• Demonstrated knowledge and/or experience in change management and initiating a new service delivery model within an established service.
• Evidence of and commitment to patient/customer focused care, clinical governance and quality improvement.
