Job summary

Calvary Riverina Private Hospital in New South Wales seeks a Nurse Unit Manager (Level 2) to lead our combined palliative care and rehabilitation ward and outpatient service. This full-time role covers business hours Mon–Fri with duties in clinical leadership and workforce planning.

You will oversee patient care, staff rostering, resource management and quality initiatives, driving safe, high-quality nursing across a busy acute setting.

Qualifications

• Nursing qualification at tertiary level and current AHPRA registration.
• Current Working with Children Check.
• Minimum 5 years post graduate experience in public/private acute healthcare.
• Experience as senior clinical leader with interdisciplinary teams.
• Understanding of quality improvements and accreditation standards.
• Knowledge of rehabilitation or palliative care is desirable.
• Experience managing KPIs within budget.
• Experience in change management and fostering a positive workplace culture.

Responsibilities

• Clinical leadership and patient care oversight ensuring high-quality nursing care.
• Staff management, rostering, recruitment, performance management and education.
• Ward flow management including admissions, discharges and bed allocation; oversee resources and budgets.
• Drive quality improvement, compliance and patient safety initiatives.
