Job summary

Chris O’Brien Lifehouse is seeking an experienced Nurse Unit Manager for the 8N surgical ward, caring for Head & Neck and Thoracic surgery patients. You will lead a multidisciplinary team, oversee daily ward operations and drive quality improvements to enhance patient care.

You will work with a supportive leadership group and a dedicated CNE, NP and CNS, ensuring resource efficiency and staff development in a busy cancer care setting.

Qualifications

• Current AHPRA registration.
• Postgraduate qualification in nursing or health management.
• Minimum 5 years post-graduate ICU nursing experience and/or clinical management experience.
• Experience in both public and private health settings preferred.

Responsibilities

• Oversee day-to-day operations of the 24-bed ward (Head & Neck & Thoracic surgery).
• Lead and develop the nursing team within a multidisciplinary environment.
• Manage staffing, budgets and resources, ensuring high-quality patient care.
