This government-not-for-profit role offers a competitive base salary of AUD 137,000–143,000 plus super, sponsorship and relocation support, and opportunities to contribute to quality improvement and education.

Qualifications

• Must hold or be eligible for Nurse Practitioner endorsement with AHPRA.
• Minimum 3 years’ post-registration experience.
• Demonstrated advanced nursing practice in vascular or related specialty.
• Confident working autonomously within a multidisciplinary team.
• Strong clinical assessment and decision-making skills.

Responsibilities

• Conduct comprehensive vascular assessments including history and exam.
• Provide advanced clinical management across the vascular care pathway.
• Assess and manage patients with complex vascular conditions.
• Develop, implement and review individualized treatment plans.
• Request and interpret pathology and diagnostic investigations within scope.
• Offer expert advice on vascular symptoms, options and ongoing care.
• Support pre-, post-operative and ongoing vascular care.
• Collaborate with vascular surgeons and allied health teams to optimise outcomes.

The Opportunity

This is an opportunity to work at an advanced level of nursing practice, with a high degree of clinical autonomy and decision-making while collaborating closely with medical, nursing and allied health teams. As a Vascular Nurse Practitioner, your responsibilities may include:

• Conducting comprehensive vascular assessments, including patient history and physical examination
• Providing advanced clinical management for patients across the vascular care pathway
• Assessing and managing patients with complex vascular conditions and presentations
• Developing, implementing and reviewing individualised treatment and management plans
• Requesting and interpreting appropriate pathology and diagnostic investigations within scope of practice
• Providing expert advice regarding vascular symptoms, treatment options and ongoing management
• Supporting patients through pre-operative, post-operative and ongoing vascular care
• Assessing and managing patients with peripheral vascular disease, chronic wounds and circulatory concerns
• Providing education and support to patients and families regarding treatment, procedures, medications and self-management
• Working collaboratively with Vascular Surgeons, Medical Officers, Nurses and Allied Health professionals to achieve optimal patient outcomes
• Contributing to clinical protocols, models of care, quality improvement and evidence-based practice
• Providing clinical leadership, education and mentorship to nursing colleagues
• Supporting the development and evaluation of services within the vascular specialty

About You

You will be a Registered Nurse who:

• Holds, or is eligible to hold, current Nurse Practitioner endorsement with AHPRA
• Has at least 3 years’ post-registration experience
• Has demonstrated advanced nursing practice within Vascular or a closely related specialty
• Is confident working autonomously and within a multidisciplinary team
• Demonstrates strong clinical assessment and decision-making skills
• Has excellent communication, leadership and problem-solving abilities
• Is committed to evidence-based practice, education and continuous improvement
