Job summary

Hunter New England Health is seeking a Nurse Practitioner to deliver comprehensive virtual mental health care targeting individuals in rural and remote Emergency Departments across Moree, Glen Innes, Narrabri and Inverell. You will assess, diagnose, and treat across primary care with autonomy and a multidisciplinary team.

You’ll lead patient care, shape treatment plans, participate in quality improvement, and apply evidence-based practice to improve community health outcomes.

Qualifications

  • Current AHPRA registration and Nurse Practitioner endorsement, or substantial progress towards endorsement.
  • 3+ years’ advanced practice experience in your area of practice.
  • Strong primary care assessment, diagnosis and treatment skills.

As a Nurse Practitioner you will provide comprehensive virtual mental health care, including assessment, treatment, treatment planning, and referral services, specifically targeting individuals presenting to rural and remote Emergency Departments in Moree, Glen Innes, Narrabri, and Inverell (New England North-West Service).

About You

You’re an experienced Nurse Practitioner who brings advanced clinical knowledge, sound judgement and a strong commitment to person-centred care.
You’ll bring:

  • Current AHPRA registration and Nurse Practitioner endorsement, or substantial progress towards endorsement.
  • 3+ years’ advanced practice experience in your area of practice.
  • Strong primary care assessment, diagnosis and treatment skills.
  • Excellent clinical reasoning and problem-solving abilities.
  • Experience in quality improvement and evidence-based practice.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively across diverse communities.
