Job summary

NSW Health is seeking a passionate Nurse Practitioner to join the Emergency Department at Shoalhaven Memorial Hospital in Nowra. The role combines autonomous practice with collaborative team work to deliver advanced care and shape clinical practice.

You will conduct focused assessments, manage care using advanced skills, order investigations, prescribe medications, and refer to other clinicians as required. A strong emphasis on developing standards and education within the ED is expected.

Qualifications

• Currently a Registered Nurse with AHPRA and authorised as a Nurse Practitioner.
• Postgraduate qualifications in emergency nursing or extensive ED experience.
• Tertiary qualification at Master level or working towards same.

Responsibilities

• Conduct focused assessments and manage patient care using advanced knowledge.
• Order diagnostic investigations and prescribe medications as required.
• Refer patients to other health professionals as needed.
• Lead the development of clinical practice and inform education programs and service planning.
• Collaborate with ED leadership to ensure high-quality, timely care.
