Job summary

The Royal Hospital for Women is seeking a Registered Nurse-Midwife for the COU Level 3 in Randwick, Sydney. The role involves coordinating and delivering nursing care for obstetric and gynae oncology patients on a dedicated unit, with 12‑hour shifts on a 6‑week roster.

You will work within a supportive multidisciplinary team and align with SESLHD standards. Applicants require current RN registration with NMBA, excellent communication, and post‑registration acute care experience.

Qualifications

• Current registration as a Registered Nurse with the Nursing & Midwifery Board of Australia.
• Demonstrated high level written and verbal communication, interpersonal skills and the ability to identify key messages and concerns.
• Ability to proactively engage with patients to enhance service delivery and guide others in providing service excellence.
• Ability to work as part of a multi-disciplinary team and apply professional and ethical boundaries.
• Basic computer skills and proven ability to use health information systems.
• Knowledge of risk management, safety and quality principles and the nurse's role in applying them.
• Recent extensive post-registration experience in an acute care setting.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate and deliver nursing care for women in the Close Observation Unit (COU) level 3.
• Support monitoring needs and care plans for high-risk obstetric and gynae oncology patients.
• Collaborate with multi-disciplinary team and uphold NSW Health CORE values.
• Provide 12-hour shift coverage and adhere to roster patterns.
