Job summary

Qualifications

• Expert knowledge of the relevant curriculum and ability to model exemplary teaching.
• Expertise in high-impact teaching strategies and data-driven evaluation.
• Ability to monitor and assess student learning and provide feedback to students and parents.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills for collaboration with staff, parents and the community.
• Ability to promote department values and lead school-based professional learning.

Responsibilities

• Demonstrate high-level expertise in teaching and learning practice.
• Model exemplary classroom practice including through teaching demonstration lessons.
• Collaborate with school leadership to develop a shared view of effective teacher practice.
• Lead and model the implementation of whole-school improvement strategies related to curriculum planning and delivery.
• Support professional learning through observation, feedback, and peer collaboration.
• Provide evidence-based feedback to teaching staff to inform development.
• Advise on context, processes and strategies shaping professional learning.
• Supervise and mentor student teachers and coaching teachers.
• Model use of student data to inform teaching approaches.
• Promote school-wide professional learning structures and protocols.
