Job summary

Broken Hill Base Hospital & Health Services is seeking an experienced Nurse Unit Manager (NUM3) to lead its Dialysis unit on a fixed-term contract in Broken Hill, NSW. You will oversee clinical standards, staff rostering, and patient care within a specialist renal service, using Fresenius 5008S technology.

The role offers regional exposure and a dedicated clinical team, with opportunities to implement governance and quality initiatives.

Qualifications

• Current registration as RN with AHPRA.
• Proven NUM experience in a dialysis setting.
• Experience with Fresenius 5008S dialysis machines.
• Strong leadership and rostering skills.
• Knowledge of renal nursing protocols and dialysis governance.

Job description

Broken Hill Base Hospital & Health Services is seeking an experienced Nurse Unit Manager (NUM3) to lead its Dialysis unit on a contract basis, starting as soon as possible through to 28 December. Based in Broken Hill, NSW, this role offers the opportunity to manage a specialist renal service and lead a dedicated clinical team in a regional healthcare setting.

• Lead and manage the Dialysis unit with responsibility for clinical standards, staff coordination, and patient care delivery
• Contract position with flexibility and a defined end date, ideal for experienced NUM professionals seeking focused engagement
• Specialist dialysis environment with exposure to Fresenius 5008S technology and contemporary renal care practices

Preferred Requirements

• Proven experience as a Nurse Unit Manager in a dialysis setting
• Hands-on familiarity with Fresenius 5008S dialysis machines and their clinical operation
• Strong leadership and team management capabilities in a clinical environment
• Knowledge of renal nursing protocols and dialysis-specific clinical governance
• Ability to manage rostering, staff development, and quality assurance in a specialist unit

Preferred Qualifications

• Current registration as a Registered Nurse with AHPRA
• Formal NUM qualification or equivalent management credential in nursing
• Post-graduate qualification or demonstrated expertise in renal or dialysis nursing
