Job summary

Australian Nuclear Science & Technology Organisation (ANSTO) invites applications for a Year in Industry Internship Program in Nuclear Stewardship. This 12-month, full-time internship commences February 2027, based at Lucas Heights, Sutherland Shire, NSW.

Applicants should be currently completing a degree in Science or Engineering and be prepared to defer final year studies. You will work with world-class equipment on projects spanning radiochemical separations, inorganic chemistry, and

Qualifications

• Penultimate-year student studying science or engineering.
• Deferral of final year of study required.
• Must be eligible for full-time internship starting February 2027.
• Based at Lucas Heights, Sutherland Shire, NSW, Australia.

Responsibilities

• Experimental design and implementation.
• Maintenance, calibration and operation of laboratory equipment.
• Alpha, beta and gamma spectral analysis, including associated counting instrumentation.
• Radiochemical separations and inorganic chemistry work.
• Lead-210 dating of sediment and related laboratory tasks.
• Laboratory housekeeping and data recording.
