Job summary

Austin Health is seeking a Nuclear Medicine Technologist Grade 1 or 2 to join the Molecular Imaging and Therapy Department in Melbourne. This permanent full-time role offers broad clinical exposure across radionuclide therapy, PET, oncology and neuroscience imaging, with opportunities for research and leadership.

Applicants should have a relevant degree, ANZSNM accreditation, AHPRA registration, and a Victorian Use Licence. Salary packaging and other benefits are provided.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor degree in Nuclear Medicine Technology or equivalent.
  • Accreditation by ANZSNM.
  • Registration with AHPRA as Nuclear Medicine Technologist.
  • Current Use Licence issued by the Victorian DHHS.

Responsibilities

  • Provide nuclear medicine imaging and therapy across PET and conventional scans.
  • Collaborate with physicians, physicists and researchers in a tertiary hospital.
  • Contribute to clinical trials and research protocols.
  • Assist in PACS administration and quality improvement projects.
  • Support professional development and departmental leadership initiatives.

About the Molecular Imaging and Therapy Department

Austin Health's Molecular Imaging and Therapy Department is one of Australia's leading centres for Nuclear Medicine, PET and Theranostics, providing services across the Austin Hospital and Heidelberg Repatriation Hospital campuses.

Our department offers a rare opportunity to develop expertise across the full scope of contemporary molecular imaging practice, including Nuclear Medicine, PET, radionuclide therapy and bone densitometry. We perform thousands of PET studies annually and are recognised for our contributions to cancer, neuroscience and dementia imaging, as well as clinical research and innovation. About the role

This is an outstanding opportunity for a Nuclear Medicine Technologist seeking broad clinical exposure, ongoing professional growth and involvement in leading-edge imaging and therapy services.

This role offers experience across:

  • Radionuclide Therapy and Theranostics
  • Oncology and Neuroscience imaging
  • Clinical trials and research protocols
  • Radiation therapy planning studies

You will work alongside highly experienced technologists, physicists, radiochemists, researchers and Nuclear Medicine Physicians in a collaborative tertiary hospital environment. Opportunities also exist to develop skills in PACS administration, quality improvement, project work, teaching and departmental leadership initiatives.
