Job summary

Techforce JobAdder seeks a Senior Project Manager to lead the restart of a major open-cut mining operation near Orange. You will own readiness, planning, mobilisation and ramp-up, delivering safety, schedule and budget targets while building high-performing Production and Maintenance teams.

Ideal candidates will have extensive mining leadership, strong commercial capability and proven ability to manage large budgets and multidisciplinary teams in a fast-moving environment.

Qualifications

• Extensive PM or senior operational leadership experience within mining.
• Strong open-cut / surface mining experience - essential.
• Experience with mine start-ups, restarts, mobilisation, ramp-ups or brownfield operations.
• Demonstrated leadership of multidisciplinary mining teams.
• Excellent commercial and contractual capability.
• Proven experience managing substantial project budgets and resources.
• Strong stakeholder and client management skills.
• Practical, solutions-focused leadership in fast-moving environments.

Central West NSW | Open-Cut Operations | Mine Restart

An outstanding opportunity exists for an experienced Senior Project Manager to take a lead role in the restart and mobilisation of an open-cut mining operation in Central West NSW, within easy reach of Orange.

Reporting to senior operational leadership, you will take ownership of the project from readiness and planning through mobilisation, ramp-up and operational delivery. A key part of the role will be establishing a high-performing site team across Mining Production and Maintenance, while ensuring the operation is delivered safely, commercially and to schedule.

This is a genuine leadership opportunity for someone who enjoys building operations, bringing people together and taking accountability for delivery.

The Role

You will be responsible for:

• Leading the mobilisation and restart of open-cut mining operations
• Developing and executing project plans, schedules, budgets and operational targets.
• Building and leading high-performing Production and Maintenance teams
• Coordinating site personnel, contractors, equipment and operational resources
• Driving safety leadership and ensuring compliance with statutory, environmental and operational requirements
• Managing project risk and resolving operational challenges throughout mobilisation and ramp-up
• Maintaining strong relationships with the client, site leadership, contractors and key stakeholders
• Managing commercial performance, budgets and contractual obligations
• Establishing systems, processes and performance standards to support a successful operation
• Driving continuous improvement across safety, productivity, cost and equipment performance

About You

We are looking for an established mining leader with significant experience delivering complex open-cut operations or projects.

You will ideally bring:

• Extensive Project Management or senior operational leadership experience within mining
