Job summary

AECOM in Australia is seeking a senior environmental professional to join our Ecology and Impact Assessment & Permitting team. You’ll connect ecology with project approvals, lead high-profile environmental assessments, and guide clients through complex biodiversity and regulatory challenges.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in ecology, environmental science, environmental management, natural resource management or related discipline.
• Significant environmental consulting experience at Senior/Principal level.
• Experience in ecology and biodiversity assessment with exposure to impact assessment or approvals.
• Knowledge of Commonwealth and Queensland environmental/planning approval frameworks.
• Experience managing complex projects, multidisciplinary teams, budgets and client relationships.
• Strong communication, leadership and mentoring skills; ability to contribute to proposals and business development.

Responsibilities

• Lead environmental impact assessments and State/Commonwealth approval processes.
• Develop practical approval strategies considering biodiversity risks and sensitive design.
• Coordinate multidisciplinary teams and prepare environmental assessments, management plans and approvals documentation.
• Provide strategic advice to clients while managing scope, budgets, programs and resources.
• Build trusted relationships with clients, regulators and stakeholders; contribute to proposals and BD.
• Mentor team members and contribute to growth of Ecology and Impact Assessment & Permitting practices.
