Job summary

OFX, headquartered in Sydney, seeks a Financial Controller for the North America region. You will oversee all controllership, accounting, and compliance across the US and Canada, ensuring timely closes, robust internal controls, and accurate reporting.

The role links NA finance with global stakeholders while supporting strategic initiatives from Sydney hours. Reporting to the Deputy Group Financial Controller, you will manage tax, statutory reporting, and audits, with a focus on risk reduction

Qualifications

• CPA or CA qualified.
• Relevant tertiary qualifications in Accounting, Finance.
• 8+ years experience in accounting or controllership.
• Knowledge of US GAAP and IFRS, esp. revenue recognition.
• Experience managing cross-border finance teams.
• Proven track record of timely financial reporting.
• Strong tax and statutory reporting knowledge for US/Canada.
• Excel and ERP proficiency.

Responsibilities

• Manage end-to-end financial close for North American entities.
• Prepare monthly, quarterly and annual financial statements.
• Prepare monthly balance sheet reconciliations for NA entities.
• Act as business partner to Regional Finance and Compliance teams.
• Collaborate with global finance to ensure cohesive processes.
• Coordinate and manage local statutory audits and boards reports.
• Prepare audit schedules and disclosures with external auditors.
• Oversee corporate, sales/use, property and indirect taxes in NA.
• Work with external tax advisors on filings and audits.
• Maintain internal control environment and data integrity.
