Job summary

Aurizon is seeking a safety-focused and experienced Non-Rail Mechanic to join our Maintenance team at Berrimah, Darwin. The role involves ensuring non-rail assets (e.g., loaders, reach stackers, conveyors) are maintained in safe, reliable condition to support critical freight operations.

You will perform routine, corrective and fault-related maintenance per standards and WHS requirements, report accurately, and contribute to continuous improvement in a hands-on, collaborative environment.

Qualifications

• Qualified Mechanical trade professional with strong commitment to safety, quality workmanship and teamwork.
• Ability to interpret technical instructions and drawings.
• Strong fault-finding and diagnostic capability across mechanical equipment.
• Good written and verbal communication skills.
• Understanding of WHS legislation, regulations and safe work practices.

Responsibilities

• Conduct routine, corrective and fault-related maintenance activities in line with prescribed methods, standards and WHS requirements.
• Maintain equipment to a high standard and ensure safety in all work.
• Provide accurate reporting and contribute to continuous improvement practices.
• Support operational performance through quality workmanship and teamwork.

Education

Certificate III in Engineering (Mechanical)

Demonstrated experience in repair, maintenance, and overhaul of mechanical assets and components
