Job summary

The Coles Group is seeking a Cooking Operator for Chef Fresh in Sydney, Australia. You will operate large-scale production equipment such as kettles, woks and ovens, following food safety and quality procedures to deliver high-quality products for Coles.

This night shift (10PM–6AM, Monday to Friday) requires prior food manufacturing experience, and a focus on safety, quality, and efficiency within a temperature-controlled environment. Eligible to join a diverse, safety‑driven team at Coles.

Qualifications

• Previous food manufacturing industry experience.
• Cert II in Food Processing or commercial cookery with HACCP/Food Safety/WHS knowledge.
• Batch cooking experience is highly desirable.
• Ability to work in a temperature-controlled production environment.
• Capable of working in a high‑pressure, deadline-driven organisation.
• Strong focus on safety, food safety and quality while maintaining production efficiency.
• Willingness to work independently and as part of a team.

About the role

Join our team at Chef Fresh as a Cooking Operator where you will play a critical role in producing quality products for Coles!

You will be responsible for operating a range of large scale production equipment including Kettles, WOK’s and Ovens where you will follow safe food quality processes and procedures to deliver high quality products.

This is a nightshift position working 10PM - 6AM Monday to Friday.

About you and your skills

• Previous food manufacturing industry experience.
• Cert II in Food Processing or commercial cookery experience with experience in food safety management (HACCP/Food Quality/WHS)
• Batch cooking experience highly desirable.
• Ability to work in a temperature-controlled production environment.
• Comfortable working in a high‑pressure, deadline driven organisation.
• High attention to detail, through a strong focus on safety, food safety and quality whilst maintaining production efficiency.
• Willingness to work independently and part of a team.
